• EMILY SCHILDT

    What’s your name?
    Emily Schildt.

    Hometown?
    All over, Maryland.

What do you do for a living?
    Co-founder, Thing of Wonder.

What kind of perfumes do you typically go for?
More earthy, woody scents for everyday; more feminine and fresh for special occasions.
What’s your earliest memory of perfume?
The women in my family aren’t heavy perfume wearers, so I don’t have many early memories. But, my earliest and strongest scent memories are of Old Spice, my dad’s aftershave, and honeysuckle, which my sister and I would pick with our grandmother.
What perfume did you wear at age 13?
It was either Clinique Happy or all of the Bath & Body Works scents, together, at once.
You didn’t want to cross me in the hallway.

What perfume did you wear at age 16?
    Burberry, Burberry Brit.

What perfume did you wear at age 22?
    Viktor Rolf, Flowerbomb.
Other than NOVA, what do you wear now?
Today, at 29, I wear Chanel, Coco Noir or Jo Malone, Lime Basil + Mandarin.

    Favorite comfort smells?
Rose, powder and garlic (not together).

What did your home growing up smell like?
Herbs, grass, woody/smoky aromas… my mom is an acupuncturist and when I think of our home growing up, I think of scents associated with her practice like sage and fire.

    What’s your sign?
    Libra.
