What’s your name?
    Kee Edwards.

    The Carolinas.

What do you do for a living?
    Designer and business owner.

What kind of perfumes do you typically go for?
Men’s perfumes. Earthy, exotic.  Right now I’m into thick scents that wrap around you like a blanket, or an out of the ordinary scent for a special occasion.

What’s your earliest memory of perfume?
Earliest memories. When my mom & my grandmother both loved and wore Youth Dew by Estée Lauder. My grandfather loving Calvin Klein Obsession, which smelled great and amused me at the same time. My great grandmother’s soft skin smelling like baby powder. My dad in his suits putting his arm around me, smelling green & earthy, and seeming to me, the height and essence of masculinity.

What perfume did you wear at age 13?

What perfume did you wear at age 16?
No perfume. All Coppertone and tanning oil. I think I mostly smelled like sun-baked skin and fruity shampoo.

What perfume did you wear at age 22?
Yohji by Yohji Yamamoto. Some essential oils.

    Favorite comfort smells?
My husband. An old Tobacco curing barn, there’s nothing like it. Espresso. Clean home. Caramel-y baking scents. Sea Grass. All the scents below for their memories. I love how scents take you places.

What did your home growing up smell like?
We were always outside, so in and out mingled. Old cars with leather seats. Gasoline. REAL tomatoes. Our vegetable garden. Line dried laundry. Steak and fries. Catfish stew. Hamsters for a time. Yard work - fresh cut grass. Backyard bonfires. Smoke. Wisteria. Honeysuckle.   Pine trees after rain and lightning strikes. The ocean. Myrtle bushes there. The marshy smell at the back of the island. The outdoor shower at our beach house before we had city water: salty, earthy & a bit stagnant..
